[glow=Red,2,300]FFVII ALL THE WAY!!! VII is the best by far!!! I haven't played that in too long...
To any below this...lets jus say I dont find SNES FFs that great...
As to why FFVII, good long game with a good amount of secrets, awesome story, awesome graphics, awesome characters, awesome gameplay, and you get the idea...
VIII, well, haven't played it enough...and i dont like the chars or the settings that much...
IX, hate the chars, dont like the plot, and haven't played it all that much, but I've watched my friend play it...
X, too short, lack of secrets, bad story, bad chars, they shouldn't have changed the battle system (it sucks now), lack of the world map, and the list jus goes on and on and on and on and...
X-2, put simply, not a chance in hell.
XI, gameplay changed too much and its got the "keep-paying-after-you've-already-bought-the-game" feature (a.k.a. only playable online, so you have to pay to keep playing it). 'Nuff said.
Tactics was just stupid.
Origins might be alright though...haven't played it yet...wait...isn't that the one that includes all the NES and SNES ones? If so disregard my statement about it being alright.[/glow]

In my personal opinion to some degree of your points i agree but other i don't VIII was a great game... I mean where else can you get such a good love story
IX i agree with you... the only thing i like about that game is the world theme
X... its cool how they can talk and all... and the song otherworld kicks ass... but other than that i really don't like it
XI... geeze...i ain't even gonna rant bout that
Tactics... i agree just plain stupid
Origins... its alright to a certain extent

Unfortunatly, my choice isn't up there, and thus I won't vote. I would've gone with FF6 (3 in america). Ya know what, it may not have the sweetest graphics when you compare it to PS graphics, but the story line, characters, and just plain world size kicks the !@#$ out of anything after it. 7 was a good game. I liked 8, though not as as much as 7. 9.... don't get me started: The only FF game that I didn't enjoy playing. 10 wasn't a bad game... but it was to much of a break from the Final Fantasy line. I just REALLY don't like the overly linear story line. I mean... come one... you don't even have a true world map. XI I haven't played yet, but haven't heard good things about. I will probably get it if I ever get the online adapter for PS2, but I consider this game very questionable.
And I start a new paragraph for my rant regarding X2. SOMEONE SHOOT SCEA!!!! This... abomination needs to be destroyed. It may very well be a good game... but a final fantasy game should **NEVER** **EVER** have a sequel to it. This is in my opinion the WORST decision SCEA has ever made with regards to the Final Fantasy series. GRAHHH!!!!!!!
Ok, rant done. Gomen. I leave you people alone now.

Well, in my opinion, a direct sequel to VII would be awesome, and I'm getting it in movie form, but a FFVII-2 would be an awesome game. Basically it's not so much that they made a direct sequel...more the game they picked to make the sequel of. X was not a good game, already too far from the normal FF, and its sequel goes even farther frrom the normal FF gameplay. But even then, there is the factor of...just plain stupid. and you never know...maybe in FFVII-2, they have no more originality left so it sucks. But still, taking a game thats already drifted from whats been proven to work, and pushing it even farther away is not a good idea.

Nah. I'm not even pleased with them for making an FF VII movie, though that's a bit more forgivable. If they'd made an FF VII video game I would've been screaming bloody murder even more most likely, because that means they would've been taking a good story line and turning it in to an abomination.
